Characteristics :
The Accossato radial caliper is made according to the most advanced technology and using the best materials available on the market. The shape of the caliper was created by performing complex CAD studies, to ensure the lowest possible weight, the optimal level of rigidity of the body and the best capacity for dissipating heat generated by braking. During mechanical processing, the caliper body is 100% checked by three-dimensional laboratory machines.
4 Reasons to Choose an Accossato Brake Caliper :
1- Aesthetics: because in Accossato radial calipers every aesthetic detail is taken care of
2- Range Offered: Wide choice of models with different colours and wheelbases
3- The quality of “Made in Italy”: all radial calipers are made in Italy. Each component has been designed to guarantee maximum braking performance
4- Control: before being assembled and placed on the market all Accossato radial calipers are checked and tested 100%
Warranty and Revision :
The warranty is valid for a period of 24 months from the invoice date.
Each caliper produced is associated with a serial number, which makes it individually identifiable from all other radial calipers. The removal of this serial number entails the loss of the warranty and assistance.
The caliper overhaul carried out internally by Accossato technicians is carried out within one working week of receiving the radial caliper. The overhaul includes: external inspection of the product, disassembly of the caliper in all its parts, visual inspection under a microscope of each component of the caliper, visual inspection of the inside of the caliper body, replacement of the gaskets, assembly of all parts, static test and dynamic test. The replaced parts are scrapped and from the time of the overhaul, the caliper acquires an additional 12 months of warranty, upon presentation of the invoice. A further overhaul (the second) does not extend the product warranty. The overhaul does not include the replacement of other external parts not mentioned. In the event of a fall, the overhaul is carried out exclusively if the essential conditions are found for which the caliper can return to working in optimal conditions, equal to a new caliper.
FAQ
What to do in case of a fall?
Since the radial caliper is a safety component, it is absolutely inadvisable to try to resume riding after a fall, especially if you notice or suspect any malfunctions of the caliper.
Are there any Accossato caliper overhaul kits?
There is an official Accossato overhaul kit that can be freely purchased. If non-official products are fitted, the caliper will immediately lose its warranty.
Which brake fluid should I use?
Accossato recommends the use of Accossato Racing DOT 4 brake fluid because it is specifically designed for use by the most demanding customers, who demand maximum performance from their braking system. Accossato technicians recommend great care when using different brake fluids on the market. Specifically, be careful when using DOT 5.1 with a high boiling point: this fluid must in fact be removed from the braking system immediately after the race and/or single use. Failure to immediately remove this fluid from the system may cause damage to the brake system seals.
How much should I tighten the screw after bleeding?
Accossato recommends closing the bleed screw with a torque wrench at 8-10 Nm. Any attempt to close this screw by hand, without measuring its tightening, is not recommended. After bleeding and closing the bleed screw, blow compressed air all around the screw, so as to release the oil trapped in the crests of the thread and in the central hole with a diameter of 3 mm.
